Lord's Day Grace

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. (Ephesians 3:19-21)

Oh to be "filled with all the fulness of God"! As we can see from the passage above this "fulness" is the result of "know[ing] the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge"; in other words it is representative of true intimacy with the King of Glory.

True intimacy doesn't think it loves (or is loved), true intimacy goes beyond knowledge into the heart of the matter and into a realm of shared and mutual adoration that is based on a pure, faithful and intense love. The deceitful and unregenerate heart of man can not be a partaker in the intimacy of God, but rather only those who have been called by His name, bought by His blood, and filled with His Spirit may share in this holy union.

This union of the created and the Creator is a mystery wherein true born-again believers are made to be "new creatures in Christ "as we see in 2 Corinthians 2:17 "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." Clearly "all things" includes our newly acquired capacity to love in a manner that is supernaturally empowered by and consistent with the love of God Almighty, the One who IS LOVE! (1 John 4:8).

May we who are called by His holy name measure our lives upon His mercy that is renewed every morning, upon His love and faithfulness that endure forever, and upon the sure word of His testimony that is contained in the infallible, inerrant, and plenary Word of God as found in the 66 books of the Holy Bible! Amen!
